Pakar Ungkap Dampak Psikologis Perundungan Dunia Maya, dari Terisolasi Sampai Bunuh Diri

CYBERBULLYING atau perundungan dunia maya menjadi ancaman nyata yang dapat menimpa setiap pengguna digital. Cyberbully (biasa juga disebut cyberbullying) merupakan bentuk intimidasi atau penindasan berupa kekerasan dengan menggunakan teknologi digital. Hal ini dapat terjadi di media sosial, platform chatting, platform bermain game, dan ponsel.

Dikatakan oleh Panggih Subagyo, JFT Pembimbing Kemasyarakatan Kemenkumham, cyberbully paling banyak ditemukan di media sosial Instagram dan disusul Facebook di posisi kedua.

“Instagram itu sangat bagus sekali saat bisa dimaksimalkan tapi di sisi lain, sangat erat dengan banyak tampilan bentuk fisik seperti muka dan sebagainya yang kemudian, orang yang aktif di media sosial bisa mengeluarkan komentar yang tidak pantas atau dengan tujuan yang tidak baik,” kata Panggih.

Panggih yang mengisi acara webinar Gerakan Nasional Literasi Digital 2021 wilayah Manokwari, Papua Barat, Rabu (1/9/2021) mencontohkan, salah satu jenis cyberbully paling umum yaitu stalking.

Stalking atau memata-matai di media sosial dapat mengganggu dan berpotensi merugikan korban.

“Stalking adalah berusaha mencari keburukan misal stalking teman yang tidak kita sukai supaya kita bisa mendapatkan kekurangannya. Dan kekurangan dari teman kita itu, kita sebarkan ke orang lain. Ini masuk beberapa bentuk cyberbully,” lanjutnya.

Mirisnya, Panggih membeberkan fakta bagaimana pelaku dan korban cyberbully umumnya adalah remaja awal dan masih masuk kategori usia anak dalam Undang-undang.

“Sebagian besar pelaku dan korban adalah usia remaja dan masih termasuk usia anak-anak dalam UU. Belum lagi usia remaja adalah usia pengakses media sosial terbesar saat ini,” tambahnya.

Panggih kemudian membagikan dampak buruk perundungan dunia maya yang kerap dihadapi korban cyberbully.

Dampak tersebut di antaranya adalah kesedihan, frustasi, harga diri rendah, gangguan makan, kesulitan belajar, perasaan terisolasi hingga bunuh diri dan munculnya konsekuensi hukum.

“Dampak cyberbully adalah kesedihan frustrasi, harga diri yang rendah. Korban juga kerap mengalami gangguan makan dan gangguan belajar, mengalami demotivasi sehingga nilai akademis di sekolah turun. Dalam beberapa kasus membuat korban sampai melakukan bunuh diri.”

Selain Panggih Subagyo, hadir juga dalam webinar Gerakan Nasional Literasi Digital 2021 wilayah Manokwari, Papua Barat yaitu relawan kemanusiaan Nannette Jacobus dan CTO Mec Indonesia Dedy Triawan.

Kegiatan ini merupakan bagian dari program Literasi Digital di 34 provinsi dan 514 kabupaten dengan 4 pilar utama. Di antaranya Budaya Bermedia Digital (Digital Culture), Aman Bermedia (Digital Safety), Etis Bermedia Digital (Digital Ethics), dan Cakap Bermedia Digital (Digital Skills) untuk membuat masyarakat Indonesia semakin cakap digital.
