DENPASAR, kanalbali.id – Kepala Dinas Pariwisata Provinsi Bali, Tjok Bagus Pemayun menerangkan, soal peristiwa seorang turis wanita asal Australia bernama Jami Groves
yang digigit monyet hingga harus mengeluarkan uang Rp 97 juta untuk suntik antirabies.

Pemayun mengatakan, bahwa pihaknya sudah berkoordinasi dengan pihak di Monkey Forest, Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali.

“Saya sudah koordinasi dengan pengelolanya,” kata dia, saat dikonfirmasi Senin (10/6).

Sementara, dari laporan pihak Monkey Forest bahwa sesuai dengan pemeriksaan CCTV di Monkey Forest-Ubud, memang benar ada wisatawan yang digigit kera atau monyet di lokasi.

Kemudian, turis tersebut tidak melaporkan kejadian itu kepada pengelola melainkan mencari klinik di luar area Monkey Forest. Menurutnya, jika wisatawan mau melaporkan kejadian itu kepada pengelola, maka wisatawan akan diantarkan ke medical treatment atau klinik yang sudah disediakan oleh pengelola Monkey Forest.

“Dan jika kondisi tidak dapat ditangani oleh klinik maka akan dirujuk ke rumah sakit yang ada kerjasama dengan pengelola DTW Monkey Forest,” imbuhnya.

Selain itu, tiket masuk ke Monkey Forest Ubud, sudah termasuk asuransi keselamatan wisatawan. Jika ada kejadian gigitan kera atau monyet maka klinik di Monkey Forest juga sudah menyediakan serum dan vaksin secara cuma-cuma dan sudah ditanggung oleh pengelola.

Kemudian, pengelola Monkey Forest sudah bekerjasama dgn Pusat Kajian Primata atau Primate Research Center, Ubud terkait dengan kesehatan hewan atau kera di Monkey Forest, dan sampai saat ini tidak ada indikasi monyet yang terjangkit rabies.

“Petunjuk peringatan bagi wisatawan yang berkunjung juga sudah dipasang di banyak tempat untuk keamanan dan keselamatan wisatawan, antara lain tidak boleh menatap mata monyet, tidak boleh menyentuh monyet,” ujarnya.

Sedangkan, kasus wisatawan yang digigit ternyata tidak mengindahkan peraturan tersebut. Mereka berfoto bersama monyet tanpa pengawasan.

“Pertama itu, SOP sudah lengkap dan itu sudah kerjasama dengan Primate Research Center. Termasuk di CCTV dia tidak didampingi oleh dari pengelola. Dan kedua sudah diingatkan apa yang boleh apa yang tidak. Terus di CCTV setelah selesai kejadian (digigit) dia tetap jalan-jalan dan tidak melaporkan. Karena, kalau sudah ada gigitan sudah ada klinik yang disiapkan oleh badan pengelola,” ujarnya.

Ia juga menyebutkan, bahwa wisatawan tersebut harus mengeluarkan uang Rp 97 juta untuk suntik antirabies. Pihaknya maupun pengelolaan tidak mengetahui karena melakukannya di klinik swasta.

“Kalau itu saya tidak tau, karena dia kliniknya di swasta (di luar Monkey Forest). Tentu kita ingatkan kembali (ke pengelola) agar wisatawan itu sudah mengikuti SOP yang sudah ada di obyek masing-masing tempat wisata. Ketika saya misalnya, dari wisatawan ingetin ini (SOP), kalau ada apa-apa, kalau ada kejadian apa laporkan dan sebagainya karena itu ada CCTV lengkap tidak bisa dibohongin,” ujarnya.

Seperti diketahui, WNA Australia Groves mengeluh atas kejadian buruk yang menimpanya di Monkey Forest. Setelah digigit monyet, dia harus mengeluarkan uang Rp 97 juta untuk mendapat delapan dosis suntikan antirabies. Suntikan itu dapat menghentikan potensi virus mencapai saraf pusat sebelum berakibat fatal.

Gara-gara pengalaman itu, Groves benci setengah mati pada monyet. “Saya harus menggunakan seluruh dana liburan ke Eropa untuk membayar tagihan medis yang akhirnya menghabiskan biaya sekitar USD 6.000 atau Rp 97 jutaan,” kata dia. (kanalbali/KAD)
