DENPASAR – Tourist attractions in Bali are still allowed to be open and visited by tourists during the Public Activity Restriction (PPKM) period.
“Even if it’s allowed, there’s need strict supervision to not neglect health protocols,” said Head of Satpol PP for Bali Province Dewa Nyoman Rai Darmadi when contacted on Monday (11/1).
“There’s a tendency that social distancing in tourism objects is not controlled. It is necessary for the manager to remind visitors not to ignore it,” he added.
He also said that his party is in synergy with the TNI and Polri and Pecalang to play an active role to oversee the health protocols implementation. “In fact, in the past two days we have carried out socialization and taken random samples to the people we find crowding,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the focus of monitoring as long as PPKM period is the hangout places for young people. Such as, cafes, bars, or night entertainment. “This is our target object. Many people ignore social distancing and become a new cluster. That’s what we avoid,” he said.
He also said that for business places such as cafes or other entertainment venues, the visitors were limited to only 50 percent. “Only business premises with a seating capacity of 100 in normal situations are now set at 50 percent. If the tourist attraction is open, it just reminds us of wearing masks,” he explained.
“Equipment for health protocols implementation also need to serve by the manager as well. It must be in strategic places that are easily accessible to visitors,” Darmadi said. (Kanalbali/KAD)
