Day 3 : Today we will be immersed in Balinese Hindu culture, starting the day with a morning walk along Campuhan Ridge in Ubud, followed by a visit to a traditional Balinese compound to learn how to make traditional offerings during a coffee break.

Afterwards, we’ll head to Gunung Kawi Sebatu Temple for a purification ceremony. This temple is dedicated for Hindu traditions and is used locally for purification rituals.

Day 4 : Today starts at 3am for a hike up Mount Batur in Kintamani, Bangli, to see the sunrise at the top. The views will make the early wakeup call worth it. On a clear morning, it’s possible to see all the way across the Lombok Strait to the peaks of Lombok’s Mt Rinjani.

After sunrise, we will head down halfway down for a delicious breakfast with a stunning view, and a well-earned glass of prosecco.

We’ll return to our hotel for lunch and some rest. Later in the afternoon, we’ll head out to Arma Museum & Resort for a Balinese Gamelan music workshop. In the evening, we’re invited to enjoy a special dinner at the Royal Palace.

Day 5  : After breakfast and checking out from the hotel in Ubud, we’ll head out on a cycling tour through through rice fields and back streets in the small villages Bayung Gede and Tampak Siring. The cycling trip should last about two hours and is mostly flat or downhill, and we’ll have a support vehicle close by should anyone need.

After lunch we’ll make our way to the Banjar Dukuh Community in the Sibetan Mountain Village, nestled in the mountains of Bali, where we’ll be greeted by the Chief of the village. We’ll check out our rooms for the night, meet the community, and finish the day with a sunset dinner at Pemukuran Hill, accompanied by a traditional performance.

The locals previously solely relied on farming as their income, which meant a lot of young people would leave the village to seek more opportunities. Since partnering with Intrepid in 2023, the locals now have a new source of income, and many young people now stay in the village to further develop this community project.

Intrepid is the only tour operator that takes travellers to stay overnight in this village.

Day 6 : After breakfast, we’ll enjoy a walk through the Salak Plantation, home to the island’s native snake fruit and an essential part of the local farming culture. We’ll have a traditional lunch within the plantation, say goodbye to our hosts then head to Sanur where we’ll spend our final night in Bali. Once there, we’ll check into our hotel and get ready for a sunset cruise farewell dinner. (kanalbali/IST)
