DENPASAR – Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, officially has an office at Bali. He has arranged various activity plans and campaigned for several programs such as ‘Work From Bali’ and ‘Study from Bali’.
“I plan to be here from Sunday to next Saturday. After that, we will arrange it with the Director as needed. There are several activities that we arrange and we plan to hear directly from the tourism sector and the creative economy,” said Sandi during a visit to Poltekpar, Badung Regency, Bali, Thursday (28/1).
He invites players in the business world and professionals to start thinking about working on the island of Bali. “We will try several policy mixes, one of which is Work From Bali and Study From Bali,” Sandiaga said.
“There will be several activities later, which will be discussed with the provincial and district governments. We also working with the Covid-19 task force so in activities, we can be strict and disciplined to applied health protocols,” he added.
The reason for being based in Bali is that he wants to hear directly from actors in the tourism sector. “Having an office in Bali makes easier for me to arrange a schedule to interact from tourism actors. We see that the tourism sector and the creative economy in Bali are very shaken by the pandemic. In the third quarter yesterday it was minus 12 percent of the economy. This is the deepest correction felt by the Province of Bali,” Sandiaga said.
“Because of this, I want to side with tourism and the creative economy. In particular in Bali which are the pillars of our tourism sector. I have to listen to the perpetrators directly, without any bureaucratic layers,” he continued.
Besides that, he also mentioned that having an office in Bali has its own sensation so it’s increased his work efficiency and adrenaline. “Being in Bali gives us a special push to be more enthusiastic. So for expatriates both in Jakarta and other parts of Indonesia, let’s look at the work packages from Bali and those who travel, of course with a disciplined application of health protocols. “said Sandi.
