
DENPASAR – A quite courageous decision was made by the Bali Provincial Government regarding year-end conditions in Bali. As the COVID-19 pandemic still going on, the entrance to Bali has been tightened with some additional requirement. The authorities also ban any kind of New Year’s Parties, both indoor and outdoor.
The new policy is regulated in the governor circular letter (SE) on the implementation of community activities during the Christmas holidays and welcoming the 2021 New Year in the New Era life in Bali. The new regulatiom was officiallily announced on Tuesday (15/12/2020).
“Domestic travelers (including tourists-red) who will visit Bali by plane are now required to show a negative result of the PCR-based swab test (that is issued) 48 hours before departure, and fill out Indonesia’s e-HAC,” Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster said.
“Those who travel by private vehicles via land and sea transportation are required to show a negative result of the Rapid Antigen test (that is issued) 48 hours before departure,” he said.

Certificate of negative PCR-based swab test results and negative results of the Rapid Antigen test is valid for 14 (fourteen) days from issuance.
The governor letter also emphasized the details of the prohibition for New Year’s parties. “It is strictly prohibited to hold New Year celebration parties indoors and/or outdoors, using firecrackers, fireworks, and prohibited from drinking alcohol,” said the Governor.
Koster said that the prohibition applies to every tourist, businessman, manager, organizer or person in charge of public places and facilities who carry out activities during Christmas Holidays and welcome the New Year 2021. Assertive punishment ready to apply for any violator.
“Those who violate the provisions will get sanctions in accordance with the Governor of Bali Regulation Number 46 of 2020 and other regulations,” he said.

The circular came into effect from 18 December 2020 to 4 January 2021. To ensure that everything running well, Koster asked the regional government, sub-district government, village level and all parties to coordinate, communicate and socialize the SE.
“This is need to be done because there is a tendency for the increasing of new cases in several countries and in several regions in Indonesia. Anyone who will come to Bali for a tour is welcomed. However, we must follow the rules,” he emphasized. (Kanalbali / ACH)
