Sandiaga Uno supports cultural tourism in Bali

DENPASAR – The newly inaugurated Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf), Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, has firmly stated that he was ready to fully support Bali’s culture-based tourism.

It was revealed in a meeting with Bali Governor Wayan Koster and his deputy Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati ‘Cok Ace’ during a visit to Bali Governor residence in Jayasabha, Denpasar, on Sunday (27/12) afternoon.

“I hope we can build a quality tourism in Bali,” he said.

In the meeting, Sandiaga also expressed his admiration over his shirt trip in Western Bali. From thr short trip, he got throught hidden route such as hills on Pura Batu Kursi at Desa Pemuteran, Kecamatan Gerokgak, Buleleng. Meanwhile, he thinks the best nature-scenery on East Bali can be found at Tulamben, Karangasem.

Koster explained that the tourism development policy on Bali always puts forward the concept of culture-based tourism with local wisdom. According to Koster, one of the ways to create ‘quality tourism’ in Bali is in addition to adhering to Balinese culture and local wisdom, it is also implementing strict health protocols during COVID-19 Pandemic.

“We want tourism development in Bali to truly empower our chain of agricultural activities and marine products, so that the economy in Bali runs, and the benefits are felt by the local community,” he added.

“Bali is committed to create new tourist destinations. One of the plans is by carrying out the concept of marine tourism, and we ask for the support of the Minister of Tourism,” he said while giving Usada Barak (one kind of Balinese Traditional Alcohol) as souvenir to Sandiaga. (kanalbali/ RLS)
