BADUNG – Balinese musician I Gede Ary Astina, popularly known as Jerinx, has officially become Kerobokan prison occupant after he was transferred to the most notorious prison in Bali on Monday, 30 November 2020. Superman Is Dead (SID) drummer would serve his 14 months imprisonment sentence at the prison for spreading hate speech against the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI)
Jerinx was transferred on Monday morning from Bali Police detention, where he was detained since August this year. Denpasar District Court has found Jerinx guilty and violating article 28 of the ITE Law because of his post on Instagram.
On his instagram post, Jerinx have claimed that IDI is the lackey of World Health Organization (WHO), as IDI have obliged rapid test as an administrative requirement for getting medical service at hospital. Jerinx said the post was made as protest, because the policy have caused many pregnant women lost their baby.
Jerinx was wearing prison suit during the transfer, guarded by security forces and prosecutors. His wife, Nora Alexandra, and several friends were present at the entrance gate of the prison during the transfer.
Before enter the prison, Jerink had read a story he wrote while he was at Bali Police detention center. The fiction story is entitled ‘Global Kali Yuga, fiksi halu yang hanya lucu sampai 2030’. The story narrated about how COVID-19 pandemic and its relation with Hindu’s concept about the end of time.
“There is no moral message at all, this is just my scribble when feel bored and can only read many books alone,” he said.
Jerinx said there was no special preparation to moved out. “I was just working out because the health center here (at Bali Police detention) is good, so I feel healthier,” he stated.
Nora Alexandra, Jerinx’s wife, feel a little light-hearted because Kerobokan Prison is nearer from their house. She advised Jerinx to remain strong in serving his 14-months sentences. She hoped her husband remains healthy and strong-hearted. Starting tomorrow, she will prepare for his food, clothes, and books. (Kanalbali/WIB)
